Safehouse 09:02
I. Safehouse Welcome to the meaning of life The last great refuge from death and decay If it all works out from here I will begin to show you the way Out there it’s not what you might think There is no grand prize, there is no kings There is no life goal for you to fulfill, and the Goalie’s working overtime, he’s pulling the strings Everything you thought you knew is gone The minute you step out of here, apocalypse comes The world as you know it will be coming to an end In the end we’ll be the only ones So pack up your bags and get settled here If anything happens you know that I’m right here The demons swirling around right now Well, they come for us all, but friends, have no fear Safehouse! Survival machine! Save us from our Sworn enemies The ones who want to Enslave us all By making us think that every- thing’s our fault Safehouse! Survival machine! Save us from our Sworn enemies The ones who want to Enslave us all By making us think that every- thing’s our fault The story goes, he grew up in a small town His mother steering his path and passion Surrounded by friends who didn’t look like him But nonetheless shaped his worldly vision Soon he found himself behind the pew Tickling the ears of the congregation Giving hope to a weary people Preaching for a more perfect union Little did they know, there was a side of him That sought to control and manipulate Where would it lead them? How would it end? No one would know until it was too late Safehouse! Survival machine! Save us from our Sworn enemies The ones who want to Enslave us all By making us think that every- thing’s our fault Safehouse! Survival machine! Save us from our Sworn enemies The ones who want to Enslave us all By making us think that every- thing’s our fault A brand new town, a new identity California days, sunny and bright A place to hide from the new regime Of nuclear threats and annihilation II. The Temple Deity “I came to him and healed him. Oh yes I can heal you! Oh yes I can raise you from the dead! Oh yes I can open your blinded eyes! Oh yes I can get you out of prison! Oh yes I’ll give you a home! Oh yes I’ll take you in when you’re lonely! Oh yes I’ll make a heaven out of your hell! I’m in a war against your precious god! I’m at war with your precious god! I’ve come here to defeat your precious god!” [instrumental] III. On November 18, 1978, The Hippie Movement Died Part of a cultural phenomenon; our Home, the epicenter of social change Soon there were circus tents filling up Performances were seen as an act of God Dishonesty became a small price to pay The truth became something of an afterthought ‘Cause telling the people what they wanted to hear Was all that mattered, that’s what he thought Tyranny, blackmail, a top-down struggle A cult of corruption, a great big con Soon, we accepted that this was our fate What once was a safehouse, was now our prison And so he brought us down like lambs to the slaughter to Our third and final destination A place by the jungle, the middle of nowhere The temple door was coated in poison!

Shootin’ the breeze on a Saturday night Along the Brooklyn Bridge The man that I met there gave a piece of advice, he said Don’t ever give ‘em an inch Just as I crossed into the city hall square I witnessed a cruel exchange Finally, I said to the man in charge Something’s got to change In Hell’s Kitchen, I hope to see a Police man In Hell’s Kitchen, pray God, there ain’t no Traffic jam ‘Cause Hell’s Kitchen is Hell on Earth, here in Manhattan The big man said it was a big mistake Coming here at all ‘Cause God forbid the people’s needs are met Then the criminals are at fault Justice, you see, is an elusive thing Some say it comes and goes But I know for certain there is right and wrong And the truth is, everyone knows In Hell’s Kitchen, I hope to see a Police man ‘Cause Hell’s Kitchen is Hell on Earth, here in Manhattan The world is changing, and it all seems bleak Who can save us from ourselves? Democracy? Are we really free with dirty needles on our shelves? In Hell’s Kitchen, I hope to see a Police man In Hell’s Kitchen, pray God, there ain’t no Traffic jam ‘Cause Hell’s Kitchen is Hell on Earth, here in Manhattan

Good morning, noble travelers! Welcome to Corporate America! My name is Ethan and I’ll be your tour guide today. I have a very special guest with me here right now, the President of the United States! Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Without any further ado, let us begin; on your right you’ll see large statue to commemorate our hero and the face of this country, a violent criminal who died at the hands of a police officer. What an accomplishment! To the left we see a brand-new fast-food restaurant, newest location in the franchise, can’t wait to see what cool new bioweapons are included in the ingredients. This little joint is accompanied by a whole street full of bright neon signs and urban barf to satiate your constant need for stimulation aided of course by our endless selection of SSRIs, TMIs, my BMIs, and security camera eyes! Speaking of which, your precious invasion of privacy in the name of safety extends well into foreign governments; we’ve got Tik Tok, sweat shops, and other Chinese human rights violations working tirelessly to keep you plugged into the matrix 24/7. Last but not least, we have our unspoken overlords, BIG PHARMA! When they aren’t keeping the population happy and fulfilled with delicious opioids, they are fighting tooth and nail for your right to murder and chemically castrate your children in the name of progress. Clearly, we take healthcare very seriously here in the U.S. of A. Well folx, that concludes our tour of this great nation, tune in next time for our child-friendly groomer-uh-I mean drag performance tour. Can’t wait to see you there! And remember kids: don’t think for yourself.

Her face is cracked from smiling All the fears that she's been hiding And it seems that pretty soon Everybody's gonna know And her voice is sore from shouting Cheering winners who are losing And she worries if their days are few And soon they'll have to go My, my, I'm so happy I'm gonna join the band We are gonna dance and sing in celebration We are in the promised land She hears them talk of new ways To protect the home she lives in Then she wonders what it's all about When they break down the door Her name is White or Brown or Black You know her very well You hear her cries of mercy As the winners toll the bell My, my, I'm so happy I'm gonna join the band We are gonna dance and sing in celebration We are in the promised land There is a train that leaves the station Heading for your destination But the price you pay to nowhere Has increased a dollar more Yes, it has And if you walk you're gonna get there Though it takes a little longer And when you see it in the distance You will wring your hands and moan Oh yeah, you will moan You will moan You will need a little more

Everywhere I hear the sound of marchin', chargin' feet, boy 'Cause summer's here, and the time is right For fighting in the street, boy Well now, what can a poor boy do? 'Cept to sing for a rock-n-roll band 'Cause in sleepy London town There's just no place for a street fighting man No Hey, think the time is right for a violent revolution But where I live, the game to play is compromise solution Well now, what can a poor boy do? 'Cept to sing for a rock-n-roll band 'Cause in sleepy London town There's just no place for a street fighting man No Hey, said my name is called disturbance I'll shout and scream I'll kill the king, I'll rail at all his servants Well now, what can a poor boy do? 'Cept to sing for a rock-n-roll band 'Cause in sleepy London town There's just no place for a street fighting man No

I was once out strolling one very hot summer's day When I thought I'd lay myself down to rest In a big field of tall grass I laid there in the sun and felt it caressing my face As I fell asleep and dreamed I dreamed I was in a hollywood movie And that I was the star of the movies This really blew my mind The fact that me an overfed long haired leaping gnome Should be the star of a hollywood movie, huh But there I was, huh I was taken to a place The hall of the mountain kings I stood high by the mountain tops Naked to the world In front of Every kind of girl There was long ones, tall ones, short ones, brown ones Black ones, round ones, big deal ones Out of the middle, came a lady She whispered in my ear Something crazy She said Spill the wine, take that pearl Spill the wine, take that pearl Spill the wine, take that pearl Spill the wine, take that pearl I could feel hot flames of fire roaring at my back As she disappeared, but soon she returned In her hand was a bottle of wine In the other a glass She poured some of the wine from the bottle into the glass And raised it to her lips And just before she drank it, she said Take the wine, take that pearl Spill the wine, take that pearl Spill the wine, take that Pearl Spill the wine, take that pearl Take that pearl It's on girl, all you gotta do is Spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine Spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine Take that pearl!

about

HALF ORIGINAL, HALF COVERS

I traverse a handful of styles, really pushing my creativity both musically and lyrically on four original tracks containing poignant politically charged lyricism. I then pay homage to classic artist from the 1970s with four covers, allowing my own personality as well as those of the guest vocalists featured to shine through.
